Weddings at St. Mark's

Holy Matrimony is the union of two people in heart, body, and mind, intended by God for the couple’s mutual joy and the help and support given one another through the changes and chances of life. Weddings in the Episcopal tradition are joyful services of worship at which couples make vows before God and the community and receive God’s grace and blessing to help them to fulfill them, that their lives might be a symbol of God’s own unconditional love to the whole world.

Appointments to discuss your wedding with the clergy should be made as far ahead of the proposed wedding date as possible, at least three months before. In the Episcopal Church, all couples participate in pre-marital counseling with the clergy, sessions in which you will explore your relationship, the spiritual dimensions of love, and what Christians believe about marriage. You will also actually plan your wedding ceremony during these sessions. Members and non-members alike are invited to have weddings at St. Mark’s or to ask a member of the clergy to officiate a wedding off-site. Please be in touch with us to get started.
