Mondays with Marley (and Other Prophets Who Rock)

September 14, 2026 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

This fall, join Father John and Emma for Mondays with Marley & Other Prophets Who Rock. An exploration of some of the most spiritually, theologically, and biblically inspired artists in popular music. Together we will listen, read, and discuss how the word of God has been proclaimed in surprising places and through surprising voices across the 20th and 21st centuries.

Artists we will explore include:

  • Bob Marley
  • Peter Tosh, and other reggae greats
  • Aretha Franklin, Billie Holiday, and Mahalia Jackson
  • Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, Johnny Cash, and June Carter
  • Leonard Cohen, George Harrison, and Cat Stevens
  • Lenny Kravitz and U2
  • Taylor Swift, Regina Spektor, and Kendrick Lamar

Curated playlists and short video lectures will be shared in advance of each session to enrich our conversations. This series is a fun variation on last year’s Mondays with Merton.
