Mindful Mornings
Over the next several Sundays, each of our church school classes will have a “Mindful Morning” during regular class time.
Registered yoga instructor and church school teacher Melissa Harold will lead each class in age-appropriate exercises to help us become more fully aware of our thoughts, senses, and surroundings. We also will also consider how to routinely practice Christian values such as gratitude, kindness, and compassion, and how to become more accepting of others without judgment.
We begin this week, March 8, with Holy Moly. All other classes will meet as usual and we will join our families in church for communion.
Win a Great Bike for a Great Cause!
The members of St. Mark’s have helped our Church School raise money to purchase bikes through Episcopal Relief and Development for the distribution of lifegiving necessities in rural areas of Africa and the world! You can still help this worthy cause when you buy a $20 raffle ticket for the chance to win a Liv Tempt 4 (valued at $700)! Get your tickets online, or stop by the raffle table at coffee hour on Sunday, April 19. The drawing will be held on Sunday, April 26.

Sunday Morning Classes
Sundays 9:50AM until the Peace
Godly Play is a Montessori-based teaching philosophy that helps children become aware of God’s presence in the world. Through visual storytelling, children learn about biblical events and parables. They then “practice” understanding Christian faith by expressing themselves through a group conversation about what they just heard (called “wondering”) and/or art.
There are two Godly Play classes – one for children in a pre-k 5 program or kindergarten, and another for children in first and second grades. While both classes hear Old and New Testament stories in chronological order, the older group listens to a more in-depth telling of the stories of our faith.

Our curriculum for pre-teens called Connect, helps middle schoolers make sense of the Bible by revisiting the Bible’s greatest stories and uncovering major biblical themes.
