DESCRIPTION:The September 15th visitation is at full capacity. If you are interested in future Sing Sing Prison visits\, please reach out to Beth Ralston to reserve a future spot at bralston@stmarksnewcanaan.org or call the Church Office at 203.966.4515. \nThe Frederick Douglass Project for Justice seeks to change the public’s perception of the criminal justice system by becoming proximate with the humanity of incarcerated people. The program operates across multiple states\, offering powerful\, face-to-face conversations between visitors and those incarcerated. These visits go beyond observation—they are opportunities to listen\, connect\, and reflect in a way that fosters true understanding. \nWe have 15 spots reserved for St. Mark’s to visit the Sing Sing Correctional Facility on Tuesday\, September 15\, from 12;30-4PM. \nSing Sing Correctional Facility is located at 354 Hunter Street\, Ossining\, NY. The prison is built into the hillside along the Hudson River\, adjacent to the Metro-North railroad tracks. \nDuring the visit\, you will have the opportunity to interact directly with incarcerated individuals. Please follow the directions of staff at all times. To help make this a meaningful experience for everyone\, we ask that you: \n\nListen with an open heart.\nMake eye contact.\nRemember that everyone has something to teach and something to learn.\nTreat every person with dignity and respect.\n\nImmediately following the visit\, you are invited to a debrief and social time at a nearby restaurant. If your schedule allows\, we encourage you to stay. It is a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the experience\, learn more about the Frederick Douglass Project\, and get to know members of the leadership team. DESCRIPTION:Calling all children in kindergarten and up – join us!\n\n\n\n\nChildren’s Choir Opportunities for Fall 2026 • Click here to register \nCalling all children in kindergarten and up – join us! We start on Wednesday\, September 16\, 2026. \nThere are wonderful opportunities for your children to learn skills in reading and interpreting music\, as well as the joy of singing to our Lord and with each other\, all under the guidance of our Director of Music Ministry\, Ned Tipton and our Director of Children’s Ministry\, Jan Maynes. \nWe welcome current and new members to join one of our two children’s choir levels: \n\nJoyful Noyze: For children in kindergarten through second grade\, Wednesdays 4-4:30PM\nChoristers: For children in third grade and older\, Wednesdays 4:30-5:30PM\n\nRehearsal and performance schedules follow the New Canaan school calendar.
