SUMMARY:A Service of Evensong for All Saints & All Souls
DESCRIPTION:Choral Evensong (sung Evening Prayer) is one of the most beautiful services of our tradition. Most of Evensong is sung by the choir\, freeing the congregation to attend prayerfully to the “holiness of beauty.” \nSolemn Evensong is perhaps the most uniquely Anglican/Episcopal Service in Christian worship\, and is one of our most beautiful means of outreach to the broader community. Sung in observance of the Feasts of All Saints & All Souls\, the service will include music specifically written for those two feasts by Franz Schubert\, and T. Tertius Noble\, all sung by the St.Mark’s Choir and Soloists and accompanied by Dr. Michael Burnette at the organ. \nService is followed by a festive reception hosted by The Friends of Music at St. Mark’s in Morrill Hall. \nAll are welcome. No ticket or registration required.

This is a wonderful opportunity to give thanks for the abundance the garden has provided to the New Canaan Food Pantry and others in the community this season\, and to enjoy fellowship with others. If you have lost a beloved animal friend\, join the clergy in the Chapel to celebrate\, bless\, and give thanks for the lives of the pets we love\, but see no longer. Bring a memento\, toy\, or picture in memory of your pet to lay on the alter as we commit them back to God.
