HANDS ON OUTREACH...opportunity this summer on Saturday, August 2 for St. Mark's volunteer team to help at the Habitat for Humanity (HFH) warehouse in Bridgeport.  A day’s work may include cutting lumber, building pre-fabricated wall panels and painting in the warehouse or onsite at one of their Bridgeport projects to assist where needed.  Men and women welcomed. FAREWELL SUNDAYS…are planned for Carol Hoidra on August 3 and for David Rider on August 10.  Each will preach and celebrate on their respective Sundays; we invite you to celebrating their ministries with them on each of those mornings.

EPISCOPAL RELIEF & DEVELOPMENT has launched a Midwest Flood Fund to respond to requests from churches in flood-stricken communities. They are helping to restock food pantries, ensure access to clean water, and provide rent assistance to the newly homeless and jobless. FOOD PANTRY NEEDS…for now include:  Bottled juice, juice boxes, crackers, drip coffee, TP, PT, napkins, Kleenex, cleaning items (sprays, wipes, etc) canned fruit, and pudding packs.  Please make sure all items are non-expired; they may be dropped off at St Mark's Church anytime.  All financial contributions should be made out to St. Mark's Church with "food pantry" in the memo line.

 

CAMP HAND-IN-HAND…is in full swing.   The 3rd session is July 21 – August 1 and runs from 9-3 p.m.  Our campus is abuzz with youngsters and activities – stop by to see the fun.  Still a few openings for campers 5-8 years old - contact the camp office (966-6920) for more information. 

 

PERSON-TO-PERSON…is in need of gently used summer clothes for men, women and children.  Please take your donations directly to Person-To-Person, 1864 Post Road, Darien, CT 06820, Phone: 203.655.0048.

 

MEALS-ON-WHEELS…needs summer substitute drivers on Monday mornings, 10:30-12, to bring nutritious meals to those unable to prepare for themselves. Call Sara Smith if you can help with this ministry, 972.1105.
