Welcome

A heartfelt welcome from St. Mark’s Episcopal Church of New Canaan, Connecticut. Designed by Willis Mills in 1961 to accommodate our growing congregation, St. Mark’s happens to be the roomiest church in town – literally and figuratively. Here a lively group of believers and seekers, young and old, gather to grow spiritually through worship, education, outreach and fellowship.

Architectural historians have lauded our edifice for its incorporation of Gothic design in a totally modern style. Our congregation reflects this ethos. As Episcopalians, part of the worldwide Anglican Communion, we believe in the synthesis of biblical and liturgical aspects of worship. We encourage respectful debate, honest discussion and an intellectual curiosity about our faith. We question a lot. Sometimes there are answers. Coffee and pastries ease the pain when there are not. And our peaceful 12-acre campus provides plenty of space for reflection and a chance to feel God’s presence in His magnificent natural gift to us all. That’s where we are quiet. And that’s when the answers are often heard.

Come, learn more about us.
