God in the Media

St. Mark’s Church, New Canaan CT

The Rev. David Rider

Epiphany/Lent 2008

Sundays 9:00-9:45 a.m. in the Education Center

Class Description

This class reads one article per week from the mainline press to explore major Christian themes through a larger cultural lens.  How do journalists portray church dynamics and Christianity’s impact on the larger world?  On Martin Luther King weekend, we engage King’s final sermon preached at the Washington Cathedral, days before his death.  David Rider will select an article for group reading before Sunday discussion and careful listening to each other’s perspectives.
