Environmental Defense President Speaks on Global Warming Solutions

October 15 after 10:00 Worship

Earth Ministries is proud to have Fred Krupp, President of Environmental Defense, a leading national nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting the environmental rights of all people, speak at St. Mark’s on October 15 at 11:30 in Morrill Hall.  Environmental Defense has collaborated with major U.S. firms to create solutions that win lasting economic and social support because they are nonpartisan, cost-effective, and just.

Krupp joined Environmental Defense in 1984. The organization seeks market-based solutions to some of the world’s most serious environmental issues. Among the organization’s initiatives are the acid rain reduction plan in the 1990 Clean Air Act and the U.S. proposal to achieve least-cost greenhouse gas reductions in the Kyoto Protocol on global warming. Krupp often headed the Environmental Defense delegation in international climate change negotiations and has led the organization in a series of corporate partnerships with McDonald’s, BP, FedEx and others.
