St. Mark’s Community Behavioral Covenant
As a member of the St. Mark’s community and the Body of Christ, and with God’s help, I strive to:
• Work with, speak and listen to others with mutual respect, endeavoring to live out our Baptismal Covenant by seeking Christ in all persons.
• Keep myself informed of activities, concerns and decisions that affect our Church community.
• Value a spirit of dialogue in community discussions in which I listen carefully to perspectives of others- especially when they differ from my own- trusting that others can expand my horizons and strengthen our common good.
• Express my ideas directly with the appropriate person or group and not allow other parishioners to use me as an unnamed constituent.
• Employ clear and assertive language to express my views without lapsing into aggressive or disparaging references to individuals or groups.
• Respect open, well-communicated Vestry decisions, realizing that there may be many points of view.
