Coffee Hour Guide

Instructions for Hosting Coffee Hour

 

     (Hosts are not responsible for making coffee or the clean up related to it)

 

~ Contact your co-host to divide responsibilities

~ Please bring:  4 baked goods/other edibles

                                 1 dz. Bagels (ex. Bruegers)

                                2 gallon of whole milk (for coffee)

                                2 qts. Juice (apple, lemonade)

~ 3 “Bakers” will drop off baked goods either on kitchen counter or in refrigerator

 

Arrive at kitchen by 9:30

 

~ Prepare food for platters: slice bagels,cut in half,slice loaf breads, coffee cake    

~ Fill platters (using doilies) with individual foods and cover with saran wrap

       and leave on counter, refrigerate if necessary

~ Fill white plastic thermos with the milk, leave in refrigerator

~ If item needs to be warm, ovens can be left on low heat during church

~ Put tablecloths on food and coffee tables

~ Put out napkins, small plates

 

Leave Church Right After Communion

 

~ Uncover food platters and place on tables

~ Set out basket of individual butters and cream cheese with knives for bagels

~ Put (2) white thermos of milk on coffee table

~ On wooden table near air hockey, put out juice and cups for kids along with

       A couple of kid friendly platters (cookies, cupcakes, etc.)

~ Feel free to pass a platter around the room

~ Keep tables clear of discarded cups, napkins, etc. as coffee hour progresses

 

~ CLEAN UP: Wash platters, milk pitchers, any knives, etc. (frequently Tess is in the kitchen and helps with this part of clean up)

                            Wipe off tablecloths (put in pantry) and tables

~ Leftovers: Fill one platter with leftovers, cover and put in freezer for the 8:00am service the following Sunday.  Other leftovers – wrap or bag and place in freezer.  Use your judgment as to what should be saved and what food discarded. 

~ Please report to Hospitality Guild member what leftover food is in freezer

Fruit with toothpicks

Mother Anne’s Famous “Egg Bake”
